In light of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis and the current government advice on self-isolation, especially for the elderly and most vulnerable in society, the Taj Barming, and sister restaurant Thaii Fusion, will as of today offer daily complimentary food parcels to the elderly people in our communities.

Kiron Haque, Managing Director, a local resident and prominent businessman with a long and historical family tie to the area, is very keen to play his part in helping those that need it the most. He stated: “we are living in unprecedented times and this pandemic has shown us that none of us are immune to hardship and therefore must do all we can to support each other and our communities during these testing times. I take great pride that my businesses are supported by the local community and I feel honoured and duty-bound to do my bit to help those that will need it the most.”

As the situation is evolving constantly, we are taking cue from the government, local authorities and health practitioners to ensure the safety of all our wonderful staff, suppliers and customers and respond accordingly. In the meantime, we are urging all local outlets in both Maidstone and Sittingbourne to spread the word and inform everyone that we will be pooling all our resources to ensure that food packages are made available for those over the age of 60 and over.

The packages should be ordered in advance and collected from either restaurants in person. However, if that is not possible and there is no relative or carer of the said elderly available make the collection in person, we will arrange for it to be delivered to their respective homes ourselves.
